About the Chamber: The Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce is a membership-based, 501(c)(6) organization. Consequently, the Chamber is lead by a 15-member board of directors. Each board member serves a three year term of service to the Chamber. Furthermore, the Chamber has a four-person, full-time staff handling day to day operations. The Chamber operates the Siesta Key Visitor Center which is staffed by more than 50 volunteers. The Chamber serves the businesses and community of Siesta Key, FL.

Beginning: The Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce is the successor to what was a travel-related organization by the name of Siesta Key Vacations, Inc. In a court order dated July 20, 1959 and signed by Sarasota County Circuit Judge Robert E. Hensley, Siesta Key Vacations obtained court approval to amend its charter and rename itself the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce, Inc. The court order carries the signatures of six directors: Harold Lewis, David Dower, James Hicks, Bernice Y. Derr, Al Bosek and Bill Wood.
