Crowley Museum and Nature Center's Second Annual Haunted Halloween Hayride

Do you dare take a tractor-driven hayride at night down Pine Level Trail? This historic road has never known street lights and is lined only with native Florida lands complete with ghosts and goblins jumping out of the woods for this spooky occasion. The Children's Garden Fifth Annual Halloween Spooktacular Celebration

The Mangrove Coast Fly Fishers and Sarasota Chapter of the Coastal Conservation will hold the fourth annual Fall Fly Fishing Challenge on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008 out of the Ken Thompson Park boat ramp on City Island in Sarasota. The 11th Annual Great Teddy Bear Run, sponsored by the Sarasota Florida HOG (Harley Owners Group) Chapter, Admission: 10.00 if you pre-register ($15 the day of the event) & a stuffed animal for charity This charity event will benefit KIDS by the SEA, a local non-profit, serving children with cancer in our area since 1982. Every year we have a police escorted parade with a new teddy bear or other stuffed animal strapped to our bike and end at the Sarasota Fairgrounds for a big party with lots of food & fun. Sarasota Holiday Parade Main Street, Sarasota Florida The Sarasota Holiday Parade takes place in downtown Sarasota. Parade viewers are welcome to bring blankets to toss over the curbside to sit on and lawn chairs as well. Parking is available downtown on streets and in lots other than those closed for the parade route. It’s best to arrive about an hour early to find parking and a nice spot along the parade route from which to view the festivities.

New Years Eve - The Annual Pineapple Drop...Our Sarasota Calendar of Events wraps up a year long run of fun events and festivals with The Pineapple Drop at Midnight on New Years’ Eve in Downtown Sarasota at the Main Street New Year’s Eve Party. With live bands, refreshments from assorted street vendors, venues for kids and free admission, it's a fun and safe way to close out the old year and ring in the new one. Located at Lemon and Main Streets in Downtown Sarasota, this fun family affair kicks off at 7 p.m. on December 31.

The Siesta Key Village Association is hosting "Everyone Gets a Kiss," a Valentine Stroll, from 6 to 9 pm Friday. Merchants are staying open for the evening, many offering refreshments - including chocolate kisses - while snacks and entertainment will be available throughout the village.



02/14/2009 Say I Do Again

Couples can say "I do" again on the white sands of Siest Key this Valentine's Day. More than 300 couples took part in last year's vow-renewal ceremony on Siesta Public Beach. Couples must register by February 12, for this year's event, and the fee is $2 per couple. At the sunset ceremony, they will renew their vows before Judge Becky Titus. The County has hosted the annual ceremony for 18 years, and the event continues to grow. Couples may register online at : http://www.parksonline.scgov.net or by Calling (941) 861-7275



05/02/2009 Annual Siesta Key Sand Sculpture Contest

The annual event is held on Siesta Key Public Beach, children and adults can compete in this free event for cash prizes for the first, second, and third place in each category. Registration at 8:30 am Contest begins: 9:00 am. Categories are: Adult - Humorous, Adult - Miscellaneous, Children - 10 years and younger, Children 11-17 years of age. Sponsored by Sarasota County Parks and recreation and the Pelican Press.
